Prezi

First of all, I feel so sorry that I don't have a prezi link to this project, because our group just make a power point for the high culture presentation. About that presentation, we visited the Museum of Contemporary Photography. That day when we get there, there are only a few people there. In the end, we interview a student who came from Columbia College. She told about something about high culture, and she said she prefer pop culture to high culture. And the other people also said they like pop culture more than high culture. I think pop culture is closer to our life and it is easy to understand . If you ask me which one I prefer between high culture and pop culture? I think the answer for me is the same-I like pop culture.

TV

"Where are we going? Dad" is my most favorite TV show which is about the parent- child education. In this show, there are five stars father and they take their child have a 72 hours experience in rural of China. Five star fathers need to take care of the children daily life alone without any help, and they need to complete a task together. Dad and child have more time to understand each other in this show. Dads knew they need to respect their child and listen to their though. I think many novice dad need to watch this show, fathers need to work long time a day and earn money for their family, so they don't have enough time to accompany with their child. I think a child's growth cannot leave without their father, please give your child more attention.

Food

The article "Custom made" gave me a deep impression. It was written by Tara Parker-Pope, it told about some companies' successful experience of developing in other countries. I think we can learn something that is we need to change and develop our product to meet the requirement of different people in different countries. I think the most interesting part in this article that is the Green Giant, Green Giant decided to sell canned sweet corn in other country. They took some surveys of Asian diet, and they changed their products to meet the country which they wanted to ship. I think the message of this article is closed to our real life. In our real life, if you need to get some goals, you need to spend more time to understand it, try to change yourself to accord with the requirement of what it needs.

Movie- a part of my review

In this movie, Charlie(tom cruise) and Raymond (Dustin Hoffman) are two brothers. Charlie was a car salesman, he is a selfish and indifferent businessman. Raymond was an autistic, he didn’t understand what money is for. They didn’t have any intersection, until their dad died and left 3 million dollars to Raymond, and only one car to Charlie. Charlie hoped to get Raymond’s custody and obtain money, so Charlie took Raymond away from sanatorium and they started a short journey. At first Charlie did not patience to Raymond, but during the journey Charlie had learned how to pay attention, how to listen.

Music

In this semester, we have a music presentation. For me, the most difficult thing that is choose my favorite songs. I like Mariah Carey and I chose one of her song named"Hero" in the end. I chose this song because I believe that what Mariah Carey is trying to get across is very inspiring and helps people to believe in themselves. If you feel like no one is there for you I think this song shows you that you’re a hero and that you can do it all by yourself. I think the lyrics mean that everyone is a hero. Like sometimes when I have to do things on my own and no one is there, I am my own hero and help myself through my problems by guiding myself to where I think I will succeed. Almost like when I have to take on a big project, there will be a time when I’ll have to figure it out on your own. Sometimes we need to be a hero to help ourselves out. Other times we need to be a hero to help others out. If we look inside ourselves, and see our inner strength, in time it will help us find the way.

Reading

For me I think the reading named"Do I look like public enemy number one?". This reading make me think more about my life. The reading is talking about a girl who is a Arabic. She don't told others that she is an Arabic because some Americans hate Arabic. I like this reading because for me i was also not an American, maybe sometimes I have some similar feeling when I stay with America friends. The United States is a nation of immigrants, people came from different countries in the U.S have different culture and ethnicities. From this reading, I think we should respect each other without discrimination. Everyone is equal.

Culture Identity

My culture identity is about my hometown Fujian. I chose tea, traditional food and some famous tourist attractions( Wuyi mountain, Gulang Islet, Fujian Earthen Dwelling Building) to represent it. Because I am a tourist guide when I am in China. These places are very popular. When people talk about these places first reaction is that they were in Fujian province. They are very famous not only in Fujian but also in China. Tie Guanyin, variety of oolong tea. It is famous in the world, it is specialty of Fujian Province. It also represents the thousands of years of tea culture in Fujian. I miss the traditional food so much, because I have not eaten the same taste with hometown since I came to the United States. What I chose is very respresentative in Fujian. I love my hometown, it is a important part in my life. It gave me so many good memories.
